E92 330D feeling slow

Car has now done 1,600 miles and has gradually been getting quicker.

I haven't driven it for a week so I drove it to the takeaway. The gearbox did appear to be lagging just like the X5 started to do.

Then I couldnt put any distance between the 2 following cars which I ended up having to pull over for.

Peugeot 405 GLTD (M Reg)
Volvo V40 2.0D (55 Reg)

Any suggestions?

I thought it was an M but MOH thinks it was an L plate.

The thing was moving at a stupid pace.

I wasn't sure if it was possibly because MOH had been driving it and clearly as he is getting excellent fuel consumption he has been driving it in a less spirited manner and the ecu/autobox had "learned" and adapted.

The only other difference I could think of was that the car had just been filled with Shell diesel instead of it's usual Texaco fill.

The cars you have quoted as an example suggest a real lack of power if you couldn't put space between you.

It definitely sounds like your 330D is down on power. Best bet would be to get it to a Dealer to have it checked out (simple diagnostics should flag the issue), it could be something simple like a turbo/boost hose failing (either come off or split), or possibly a MAF type error which could be the unit or an electrical fault (water ingress etc / poss ECU). Drive it steady and get it checked out.

Will call them Monday, it's only a couple of weeks ago that I was having a spirited run with an Astra VXR and a fantastic run up to Devizes and then well this. Admitedly I think the Peugeot was being driven on the limit with a toddler in the back but even so i've never yet had to pull over in the 3 series.
