Recommend a digital camera for me?
Discussion
I'm looking to replace my old Canon Powershot A20 with something newer, so I'm hoping someone can recommend a decent camera.
I have a few requirements -
1. priced around £300 to £400, possibly a bit more if there's a really outstanding model.
2. wide angle lens, or at least a normal lens that will do wider angle scenic shots.
3. it needs to take the normal compactflash cards that I already have.
4. would prefer normal AA batteries to avoid extra costs of long term things like expensive rechargeable battery pack replacement etc.. as I expect to keep this camera for another 5 to 10 years like the current Canon.
thanks in advance
James

Canon 400D takes CF cards.
Uses a battery pack that costs £40+ from Canon but third party compatible battery packs are available for around £12. Camera kit includes a charger.
The 400D, with its 18-55 lens costs around £495 but Empire Direct are offering a 10% discount and free 2nd & 3rd year warranty. Canon are giving a £50 cash back until the end of August so camera can be had for under £400 .

get a newer powershot tbh. Cards will work, works on AA and they are bloody good cameras
a 500 quid 400d is, in my opinion too much for the camera it is and for the caemra it replaced. 300 quid will get a good 350d either new or used - prob more used than new but will not meet your requirements
just get a new powershot/cybershot
