Anyone know how long it usually takes to get a court date sent to you?

it's been about 3 weeks now since i sent the bottom bit of my ticket away for *apparently* parking on zigzag lines, see the following topic.

took me about 4 months. All depends how busy the court in question is. Generally the answer to that is "very".

Yes, the question was understood.

It can be up to 6 months or even longer.

Agreed.

The next thing you will see is a summons 'package' which will include a printed sheet of what you are accused of, when you are asked to come to court, and will have the evidence used against you - the officers statement(s).

This may take anything up to 6 months or more, and is about the average.

Such is the reason why taking notes at the time is hugely important, as if it comes down to I 'your word against his' issue, the person who can show they have made detailed notes at the time has an edge.

The date you will get will be a hearing date where most likely you will just need to send off the slip to say you are pleading not guilty, and not turn up. They will then send you another date where both sides can put forward specific dates that they cannot be present for trial. The next date you will get will be your trial unless there is something else stopping the procedings.
