Hi, I now have a few small splatts of paint down one side of my car as someone dropped a paint pot outside B and Q and I drove through the puddle. Before I go ahead with warm water and a sponge is there any other way I should be doing this?

Thanks

Tried peeling off with finger nail?
What about white spirits?
Neither should cause any grief to the paintwork, especially if you wash the area with plenty of soapy water after using WS/turps.

If it's water based emulsion it will easily peel away if you apply hot water...

If it's oil based ordinary gloss paint you are in serious trouble yikes if it has dried hard, however if you are fairly quick it may come off with turps/white spirit......teacher

Thanks for the tips. I managed to pick the top off most of the specks and remove the residue with white spirit. I then gave it a good wash. I missed a few so will have another go tomorrow. I've had better Saturdays.

I had similar problem and a clay bar did the trick.

Thanks all. Just a few awkward bits left under the wheel arch. Steam cleaner sounds perfect, thanks.

A client of mine had little spots of paint all over one side of his car. Clay bar treatment later and all was sorted.
