Numpty Oil question

Sorry to ask what may be numpty question - I've seen a couple of strings about fuel, but what's the best oil to put in my 996??

I would only ever put Mobil 1 in any of my cars unless they specifically will not run on fully synth.

Normally 0W-40.

With the TT I was told to use something a bit thicker though, like 5W-40 since it would be less likely to consume it quite as quickly. Haven't gone down that route yet though.

Any 5-40 Fully Synthetic should do the trick. I use Mobil 1 or Shell Helix (buy it in France and it's about 6 Euros per litre)

My OPC uses Castrol Softec??? (£10/litre) and the local Specialist uses Texco Havoline (£6/litre) -all 5-40.

What I would suggest is not to mix types or makes, but I've got no basis for that other than being anal.
