OK - I can't even find now my links to the Workshop Manual (rushing and panicing as we're due to go out for the afternoon).
Can someone email me a pdf or word document with the relevant bit about the access. If I can just get in the car I don't mind driving down to the circuit without the electics working.

I'm not having a good day - ignore my last post as 'Lateconvert' - this was made from our upstairs PC where I seem to be permanently logged on under an old member name.
Anyway I've found my WS Manual and the method doesn't work on my car so I can't get into any part of the car (although the rain can through the partially open windows of course) and I've given up in disgust.

a similar thing happened to be before. while driving the windows went up on there own? couldn't use the door button to get out either? so used the pull handle to get out, once out i couldn't get back in? once i got into the boot i unplugged the window control box left it for a minute or two themn re plugged it in and everything was back working ok. ended up finding dampness in the drivers door control box/wiring.

hope this maybe of some help.

had to clean the connector block in the door panel on mine some time ago as the button had become intermittant
