Hi
I'm completely new to all this but have always wanted to do a project.

Ive just been given an old K reg Rover 214i. Now it might be old but its hardly been used. All the mechanicals are in good condition so I was wondering if there is cheap kit available using these small Rovers as donor cars?. The little K series engines etc are excellent would appear to be a good base.

Thanks in advance for any replys

GTM Libra
Marlin 5exi

Possibly Sylva Riot - designed to use a Ford FWD engine gearbox mid mounted but I'm sure the Rover K series lump would fit in there as well

You could use the engine and 'box, but that's it for the Libra.

Many of the parts would be suitable for the Marlin, but it was designed to use the later ("Bubble shaped" ) 200 series as a donor so inevitably you will also need parts from a later car.

Unless you are young an need a 1.4, pick a kitcar you like and get a donor car based on your choice. In the big scheme of things cost wise, its not wise to base a kit car around your donor Rover.
