many thanks for the pointer. I've been on to a few race teams already and they'll be selling their cars at the end of the season but even then engine and gearbox will need to be rebuilt; their price appears to be the same as if they were bought for new!!

so I'm trying to find out other ways of getting the car with zero mileage on engine and gearbox without the additional cost mentioned above.

Any ideas on the cost of a new cup car and possible sources??

For the last two years new cupcars have only been available to carrera cup entrants and the limited numbers available have sold out instantly. Speak to Marion Barnaby at Porsche UK. But unless your going to race against other 997 cups whats the point?

Why not try something like this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/141851.htm

Whether 996 or 997, you won't get a much quicker, track oriented Porker. wink

There's always several for sale on www.mobile.de - with quite a wide price spread from crashed to fairly new.

Manthey Racing www.manthey-racing.de may be able to supply a new one.
