Hi Guys

I've done a search under baby seat and it's just bringing up info on the child seats used in the rear.

My understanding is that you have to put a baby at the front for the first 9 months, is that correct? (Spot the 1st timer!!) I will need to get rid of my Tuscan at the end of summer and don't want to buy the Cerbie if I'm not going to be able to use it with a bay seat.

My husband has a sensible car for family use so it will really just be me and baby using the Cerbera - can it be done?

Thanks

Eve

You'll struggle to put a rearward facing child seat in the back, because the seat squabs are a little short. They will fit fine in the front though. I would have thought almost any normal rearward seat would work fine, although you should obviously test a few out...

Someone on here has some cracking photos of their little one in a rear facing seat in the front. I did the same for my 2nd child (wasnt brave enough with the first for some reason). Luckliy Mrs Fubes is a wee slip of a thing so managed to squeeze her in the nearside rear seat if we went out as a family of four smile

Just remember to deactivate the air bag......oh

Don't think there will be any probs with a rear facer in the front, certainly did this in the Chimaera with no probs and they are about the same dimensions, probably more room up front in the Cerb if anything as the dash is sculpted away more (well so says my claustrophobic mother who went in the Cerb for the first time last week, still hated it though hehe) - both children over 9 months before I got the Cerb however so can't be 100% or suggest makes/models.

My wife used the Cerbera as her runaround when our second child was born, using a rear facing child seat without a problem. It was a Graco model, but as has been previously stated, most seats should fit in the front.

If you are only going to use it as a mother and child chariot, why get shot of the Tuscan?? Is it heresy to ask that question here? I swapped my Tuscan for a Cerbera when we had kids as we all use it, but if you have a car you are happy with, then it is something to think about.

Guys thanks for all the feedback sounds like this is going to work!

The reason for getting rid of the Tuscan is because we are going to want to go out as a family of 3 just to enjoy the pleasure of TVR ownership! Drives for a reason can make use of my husbands car but you all know the feeling of just wanting to be out in your TVR for no apparent reason.....

I figure that for the 1st 9 months I'll be willing to squeeze myself into the back (not a chance of getting hubby back there!) just for the joy of being out in the car and after 9 months the baby goes in the back and we can get back up the front.

Lets hope the theory matches the reality!!

Hi Eve,
The seatbelt length can be a limiting factor - I recommend a test fit in the car park if the shop will let you. With our rear-facing seat in the front we have to move the seat back. There's only enough space behind it for our 3 year old, there's no way you could get an adult in there. In my case this means the wife has to go behind me and I have to adopt a granny driving position. In other words everyone's squashed in except the baby. But it can be done and it does at least mean you can all go out together. You may find your baby's head lolls about under acceleration but you can use your hand to steady it smile
