STOP PRESS - Star car for Rockingham!
Discussion
What a beauty, I have had confirmation today that John Hartshorne from Peninsula will be bringing the 2005 Le Mans car to the 60th celebrations in August and it gets better than that, the badboy will have an engine in it and will be running at Rockingham.
So even if you didn't get to Le Mans in 2005 you will have a chance to see the car IN ACTION at the biggest TVR party to date.

Not trying to put a dampner on things Corin. How is the car going to get within the 103 dBA noise limit?? So even if you didn't get to Le Mans in 2005 you will have a chance to see the car IN ACTION at the biggest TVR party to date.

I did wonder this myself even at 105. But if they going to the trouble to put an engine in and turn up I'm sure they can manage to muffle it a bit more, which I v.much doubt will hinder it winning its class

Anyway, its great that the car is coming. Do we know whether it is actually taking part in the races?
Again, it would be great if it did but I doubt they would run it balls out in a sprint race. If they did the result would be interesting. Last time the Tuscans and the T400R raced on the same weekend together at Rockingham (August 2003) the Peninsular car did a fastest lap of 1.41.338, whilst the fastest Tuscan lap (Lee Caroline) was a 1.39.613. Naturally the Peninsular car is now to ACO regs, so is a different animal, and the Tuscans are on harder compound tyres. I for one hope it does race, but on a tight circuit like Rockingham I really don't think the result would be as clear cut as you suggest.
Would be in the same class as the Tuscans Andy ? If yes, then you're probably right....bigger heavier GT car v a lighter chassis built for a 10-20 lap sprint race.
Will your Sag be ready for Rocks and has anyone approached you to hire the Tuscan for the same event if its not sold by then ?

It would go in Class A.Will your Sag be ready for Rocks and has anyone approached you to hire the Tuscan for the same event if its not sold by then ?
No unfortunately my Sag won't be ready for Rockingham but it is progressing reasonably well. The Tuscan is available for hire.
I will be racing another Tuscan. One that is historically significant and hasn't been out for a little while
