Well have a look at this baby and tell me what you think! www.circuitdriver.com/showpage.asp

scroll down to the single easter, thats it!

its 16k plus vat which to me is a shame cos that nearly 19k and my mrs said rollocks or something!

Now although this may be a bargain, its still a wedge out the account. please have a look and see if you think its worth it!

Saw it at Stoneleigh.
It's now in the hands of Tiger who used to have a good reputation. It looked a nice package, using a brand new zetec engine with a very fancy exhaust which is going to bump up the costs. It is a track car though so I imagine there is a good margin in it for them as I doubt they'll sell more than is needed for the race series

the thing is, would you buy this for 19k or would you buy a second hand formula renault or you could buy a formula three car for 10k and still have 9k in the bank. Or you could send off for a Tornado GT40 kit, blowed if i know.

what would the ERA be worth after a few years if you built one? Good value or not?

It's nice, but it's track only and like what has been said you can buy something for both new, or a 2nd hand race car for less money

Saw this at Autosport, Pablo tried to buy just the chassis but the guy wasn't having any of it. Too expensive by far, you can get a Pilbeam or Jedi for less!

Tiger racing have a group on Yahoo, if you are interested in there products it would pay you to have a look back through some of the postings, the era is a reasonably pretty car BUT if the quality is as my Avon then i would not want to go quick in one. of course that is just my opinion and what would i know.......

It is very brave of Jim Dudley to launch the ERA but I think the pricing will prevent it being a commercial success. There are far too many second hand single seaters out there and unlike the ERA these more cost effective alternatives are known quantities with proven track records.

I like the retro look of the car but the roll hoop bracing spoils it for me. I accept the need for a brace but that one looks a bit over engineered and dominates the view of the back of the car.
