can anyone tell me roughly what speed 3500rpm will get me to in 5th in a standard 3.6 tamora? i'm guessing it's plenty over the nsl.

i'm going to get it back in a couple of weeks following full rebuild. 3500rpm max for a thousand miles on mineral oil. how's that for a test of will power! 8 laps of the m25, hmmmmm.........

that's the plan. could have got away with top end rebuild only, but decided to have the lot done.

With the engine out you might as well.

The reason I asked was that after mine was rebuilt to 4L RR spec Dom let me go to 4500 revs (when hot) and I didn't have the 1K service until 1800 miles.

Not saying that this will be case with yours but Dom will let you know the running in procedure.

got a service/ mot interval coming up in early august, so the plan is to get it back in a couple of weeks (hopefully saturday 14th), bang 1000 miles on it and take it back in. warranty runs out on 14th august, so i want the service to pick up any more potential claimable problems.

4500rpm sounds like more fun though!
