I think my 997 air con just packed up.
Discussion
The aircon in my 997 seems to have been getting weaker for the past few days and I think is on its last legs. The air coming out of the vents seems to be fairly cold but there doesn't seem to be any pressure at all. On a hot day decreasing the temp has no effect on the actual pressure (usually the fans increase). I'm now having to have the setting at 18C to keep the car comfortable.
So... I know nothing about air cons. Is this a case of having to have it "regassed" - no idea what that actually means?? Is it something else?
Any ideas on cost (assuming its nothing actually broken that warranty would pay for)?
Cheers.

I'd take it to the dealer and ask what's going on. Sounds to me like the system's been damaged and is leaking, as you shouldn't need to re-gas it on a car that new. So... Knocking bet its stone/debri damage to the rads..I reckon they are left exposed for that very reason..its only a matter of time before they get damaged. I am on the look out for some sort of black grill/mesh that will fit over the intakes without reducing the airflow to the rads to much on my standard 997 2s..Good luck anyway, let us know the outcome.
