Mine has a land rover oil filter - I'll go in the garage and get you the part number later.
Front brakes are Sierra, not sure if rear are though.

What size are your discs, being TVR they come in various sizes smile

Typical fronts are 240mm vented sierra, but sometimes they are 260mm vented sierra

Typical rears are usually solid 253mm sierra, but check yours

My oil filter has the Land Rover logo on it with a part number of ERR3340

Are you aware of the possible issues regarding priming the oil pump on the V8 ?
There's a whole section on it in Steve Heaths bible.
I have never changed the oil yet (was done 1500 miles ago) but it basically says if you don't change the filter quick enough and get an airlock in the oil pump you get zero oil pressure.
There are one or two solutions but the main one seems to be to take the plate off the oil pump, pack it with petroleum jelly, then refit the cover with a new gasket.
The jelly provides the suction to draw the oil and then just breaks up in the oil.

I would be interested to know from other V8 owners on here how much of an issue this is myself, or whether its pretty unusual for it to happen.

It's only likely to be a problem if you leave the filter off for a long time. Drain the sump, refit the drain plug (preferably with a new washer), refill with new oil, have the new filter ready, remove the old filter and fit the new one. Start the engine and if the oil pressure doesn't come up within 10 seconds pick the revs up to 2000 or so to help it. If you still have no oil pressure after 30 seconds, switch off and get the spanners out again, you're going to need to prime the pump. It's something that is only likely to be a problem if you take the filter off and go in for a cup of tea, as long as you're sensible it won't be a problem.

Pete, would you pour some oil into the filter before refitting it (not to the top, but maybe halfway).
Would it help or is there really no need.

Cheers

No. Obviously you oil the seal but I don't bother filling the filter. I've never had any trouble with the pump priming, and I like to think that the air reduces the restriction that the pump is working against when it pulls up that first critical bit of oil from the sump. (If you had an inverted remote filter you'd need to fill it, obviously.)

Oil change done, no problems, the presure wasa straight up after approx 2 secs, left it running with no problems to report.
Used 15w/50 Mobil 1 oil in the end but censored hell its dear stuff eek. Used Landrover oil filter ERR 3340.

I have taken to filling my filter with oil just because is says so in the bible. If you do decide to do this there is no need to oil the filter seal, plenty will go all over the place. wink

Yer not wrong, to change the oil filter from above required my arms to have extras elbows, talk about brain teaser scratchchin threading the filter through the chassis, and all this with the filter full of oil oh what a great comedy moment biglaugh
