I have heard that drivers sometimes practice/refamiliarise themselves with a circuit by using a video game.... Does anyone know which of these is the most realistic/useful, i have looked around and the cream of the crop looks to be playstation, gran turismo, anyone have a different opinion.??

You could also add the Moto gp series for the PS2...very authentic tracks...
I`ve recently re-discovered TT Superbikes too...perhaps the most challenging virtual lap of any circuit I`ve ever played...makes the nurburgring look mickey mouse....

TOCA Race Driver is apparently based on actual data.

Live for Speed or rFactor, both PC. Gran Turismo really does not compare with these for pure 'simulation', it's just entertainment. Technically you can play with a mouse but you really need a wheel and pedals (mine are out of action at the mo :@).

Anyway I just consulted the replays and found an (average) one in the BMW Sauber F1 (note, apart from this there are no licensed cars/tracks in Live for Speed, but its fairly obvious what they're based on smile); the wheel/pedal movements are all 'real life'.

So I guess to answer the question Live for Speed is actually out as it contains no real tracks LOL hey ho. This will probably be moved to the gaymo forum soon...

GTR2 is the nuts for racing sims,

Download the british GT mod and you will have hours of fun,

I just bought a PS3 with the F1 game, the graphics and detail are amazing!
