Adverts are one thing and we know they make money. But do we REALLY have to have them cluttering up our forums as well? There's a place for adverts - it's at the top and it's called a banner. After a while it becomes counter productive for both parties. You may have heard of Cillit Bang but I for one would rather clean my bath with bog paper than succumb to aggressive marketing.

I agree - hence the suggestion for an advert free Insurance Forum where PH'ers can receive decent (non-advertising) advice from people in the industry (like me)with no other agenda.

Cheers for the comments guys.

PH has had many discussions with the team at A-Plan and we truly believe that they offer great deals to the drivers of PH cars. If we didn't believe that, we wouldn't allow them to advertise in the way that they do.

The A-Plan thread has been running, with success, in General Gassing for a while now, and we decided to trial the threads across other areas of the forums.

Are they really that intrusive? You don't have to click on them, nor do they 'pop up' or expand over the page. Similarly, it's not a censored thread so if you find A-Plan cannot offer a competitive quote then post and tell others- we won't be deleting any comments posted.

Please be assured that we do not allow any old advertiser to advertise within the forums, we ensure we test the services offered and if they meet our standards then we allow them to advertise. The last thing I want to happen is for PH to become a big advert- and that will never happen.

Cheers
G

My only point is that insurance questions are posed all over the site and, from my observation, some really poor advice is being offered.

Pushing everything into one location would make it easier for people like me to help.
