One off, track day insurance

I've done a search of the forum and found the following link:

Does anyone know of anybody else who does insurance cover for track days on a one off basis ? My Classic policy doesn't cover them. It was bloody cheap though so I'm not too upset.

AON used to do it but at the minute Competition Car Insurance seem to be the only people offering cover by the day. Personally I though they were pretty expensive so I haven't bothered since the first day I did (ended up not needing cover anyway as my my alternator packed up the day before the trackday !), bu then you can't really put a price on peace of mind. Anyway they are good in that they will offer different levels of cover dependent upon the amount you want insured and the excess you are willing to pay.

Egger Lawson on 01159 415255 do one-off track day insurance. I got a quote of about £200 for £15K of cover and £2K excess on my 964 at Bedford Autodrome. Don't know if this is competitive, seems expensive to me.
