It was apparently for sale last month at a Coys auction at Brands Hatch on 27th May but did not reach it's reserve price.

It seems as if the owner is trying again to sell it.

Yup - but it's the pinnacle of TVR/Cerbera stuff and has been completely rebuilt by it's current owner. I'll agree it's not suitable for the road conditions these days, but that's a long way from your comments of:

"Dont worry it would probably grenade it internals before you ditched the piece of shite hehe"

As for reliability - as you own a new merc I wouldn't shout too much. After all - aren't Mercedes having to put large sums of money into getting the reliability back. No point having good dealers if the build quality is rubbish and the car falls breaks all the time.
Now who thought we'd ever be saying that about a Merc in a TVR forum? smile

Oh and since you don't like top gear - how about reports of Mercs poor reliability from:

Channel 4 - http://www.channel4.com/4car/road-tests/M/mercedes...

Or the What car reliability index
http://www.reliabilityindex.co.uk/man_index.html?a...

or to be honest - just google about any Merc made in the last 5 years.

The Mercs long gone ,, i ran it for 18 months and 40,000 km and never ever had a single problem with it and it cost peanuts to service smile
