Just thought it may be helpful for anyone offering drives/seats for the Britcar 24hrs to post up here.

We won't be running our car so I might be tempted to buy a drive if the terms are right, so what's on offer? nutsdriving

I would also be interested in a drive if the price was right.

Hang on, that's three of us from the same stable, prehaps we should use the 996 if Jan's up for putting in a few hours as that would make four, two more and we have a team, might ask Neil to price it and see what it would cost us !! bounce

Luckily our 2006 result has meant the driver line up is sorted in the TJH Honda. However, that has left me trying to source drives in respectably organised teams for 3 drivers in other cars. All these guys are respectable race winning drivers with differing budgets although none have 24hr race experience.

If you know anyone running cars in need of drivers for any class, specialy class 1 and 2 (although I have one chap in particular keen on joining the point and squirt classes bounce) then please get in touch.

Rod, i'd also be interested in doing it in my BM if the driver line up was sorted, not quite as fun but would work out alot more reasonable than the GT3 for sure, the car is not quite there yet but we have enough time to get the right bits on the car and tested to mount a serious bid, food for thought

I reckon it would be a lot cheaper then running ours, we would have to have an engine rebuild, that's 10k before we even start. Why not get it priced by Neil !!

Yes I will, engine rebuild on mine will be 1/3rd of that price and by then it still will only have done about 7hrs so will do a 24hr easily.

Jan will come in and join us but can only do daylight driving, and shorter stints, it's his age you know nuts I'm sure we can work round that if we have 6 drivers. Seems like we have 4 from our own team if Ed is up for it, and I think one or two others on here have already expressed an interest. I reckon you will be able to bring the cost of doing this down to acceptable levels by using the BM, we would have needed £35k as a absolute minimum if we used the 996 so you must be able to improve dramatically on our figure eek

I think with us four and say two more equally experienced drivers, I believe all of us are Int/Nat C, with more racing years then I care to remember under our belts, so we would have a decent chance with Neil's prep and support, this could be the beginning of a good idea !!! Is the BM similar to drive then our old Z3M coupe ?

Also on the EERC website there is a link marked 'DRIVES AVAILAVLE' where any team offereing and any driver looking for a drive can post some information.

Simply e-mail them to me at claire.williams@eerc.co.uk and i will post them on for you.

If we can help you fill your cars with drivers we will do!!!

I may be interested. Subject to budget requirements. It'll make a change from turning left.....

So, I'm looking.

And what's more - I'll supply the pit/car communications FOC - That's worth a couple of quid for PROPER comms.

Rob.

The E36 should be very similar in pace to the Z3 I would have thought, sent you an email Rod but it keeps being bounced back.

Do teams seek extra tyre cleaners/coffee makers/etc for this event? Actually I'm not half bad with a spanner but it's not my daily profession.

The idea of supporting a car for 2 days straight is strangely alluring smile

Usually. A good proportion of the team members are made up of volunteers. I dare say I'll be working for coffee and bacon sarnies stood on the pit wall for the weekend, unless someone offers me a very cheep drive hehe that is
