Turbo oil seals are goosed by the sounds of it...
It's shown up because you've now fitted the larger bore exhaust, which has reduced the back pressure and is now allowing oil to get into the exhaust housing when there is the least amount of pressure in the system, i.e. at idle
Good call

This used to happen all the time to Ford RS turbos when a big exhaust was put on it. The oil seals are designed to work with a certain amount of back pressure.

I have a 205 with 2.0 turbo in it, and since I put my homemade exhaust on (2.5" straight through)it does smoke occaisonally on idle. I have been told before that the seals need a certain amount of backpressure but I have never really believed that. You would think that garrett would design oil seals that don't require pressure to hold them in, but I have heard larger bore exhausts causing this numerous times now. I assume it is just a problem with the older "T" series turbo's though and not the newew GT ones.
I had the same problem when I fitted my larger exhaust to my S13. With the S13, you can re-route the oil breathers and this sometimes cures the smoke problem.
Not sure if its the same on the S14 or not, but tbh it sounds like turbo oil seals to me. I got a good condition S14 T28 off SXOC for £150, but you can get them cheaper.
