Ok so where are the best places to view the F1 GP from at Silverstone?

personally i would say get there early and get to club corner. its a nice view from the exit of stowe straing and up towards abbey.

you can get very close to the entry of bridge if you get there early enough, the spectator terrace at luffield is quite good as you see the cars for a long time but its a bit dull as its quite slow and it will be very busy.

most other locations are too far away though for sheer speed, just after the bridge on hanger straight is awesome.

the terrace at luffield is a good spot (admittedly I havent been there since 1995, but it seemed good then!). The grandstand at Copse bored me to tears one year, so make sure you pick somewhere good!

believe I'll be on the outside of Becketts, which I've heard good things for re GP2 etc - any good for F1? (normally in the pits with the teams or in the Paddock club)

yes

Stood there for that GP2 race last year and watched Our Lewis (tm) go from 4th to 1st in one easy step sending one car across the grass (Piquet?) and drove straight through the middle of the other 2. Breathtaking, you should have heard the cheer biggrinclap

Watched the Sunday sat at Chapel, where Ralfy poos binned it on lap 1 right in front of us!

Outside at Beckett's is a good spot, we watched fron there last year and also witnessed Hamilton's GP2 overtake.
The F1 cars look good through the whole Beckets/Maggots complex you'll be suprised how much they move and twitch on the changes of direction.
Have you got seats? When I tried to book for Beckett's this year there were only coperate like packages, so we've ended up at Stowe corner, which should be good anyway.

In my non-expert opinion, F1 appears to be a little more on rails through beckets, quite unusual to see over-taking there, although the change of direction is mind blowing. You're a long way from the circuit in the middle of the complex, but if you're wanting to get closer, stand at the exit of Maggots which is basically the entry to Becketts and you'll get a great view.

Note that for the first time last year, there were stands at Club - these took up a massive chunk of the banking and reduced "free" viewing room to a small chunk between them and the hostility area between Club and Vale. OK from Club to Abbey though.
