Catalytic Converter Cleaner
Discussion
Got what has been diagnosed as a smelly Cat on my Griff 500.
I'm going to try changing my fuel I use V-Power but the smell satred on the way back from Le Mans putting any hi octane rubbish I came across so that might be the problem.
Has anyone used the stuff you can buy off ebay described as Catalytic Converter Cleaner

My first reaction to the description of how it works is that its full of convenient assumptions and advertising speak.
Scientific argument and evidence to support the claims are conspicuous only by their absence.
They don't claim it deposits ONLY in the cat. What happens to deposits elsewhere?
What does that do to those components, including whatever you breath in.
The only sure ways to stop your cat smelling are:
Have it neutered.
Have it removed.
Then at most it will only smell once a year, on MOT day.

When they're working they produce a sulphurous gas that smells like rotten eggs. TADTS.
That used to be true with higher suphur content in the petrol. For the most part that smell that used to be commonplace has gone away, and the smell in my car has only just started.Uncle Fester said:

The absence of anything other than marketing speak was the reason for my wondering if anyone had actually used the stuff.Scientific argument and evidence to support the claims are conspicuous only by their absence.

In my experience neutered cats smell stronger (certainly male ones)
There you go useless fact of the day
