All .. This may be just us poor older Cerbera owners (R reg)... I will call my TVR dealer but I thought I would see if anyone else comes out dizzy from the exhilirating drive full of torque and thunder or alternatively, the faint smell of hot oil vapour. It may of course be all part of the fun. Would be interested to know if anyone else notices this. Owners of newer cars too.

Yep me too! The interior smells and so do I when I get out! The fabric is stained in the back window area. Tried cleaning it, but its a tough job! All sorts of dark oily type shite coming off! Oh well, wind the window down and enjoy the car!!

Hi Sparey,

Nice one :-) Glad I'm not alone. It is a bit of a concern because I seriously thought I was light headed from the torque, which can happen with high torque\g force, but if it's fumes then that's not so good. I've put a monoxide detector in the car and will keep posts on my findings. Sorry to be so dull and serious.......great car though ! I'll not forget the test drive I had with my dealer when he went around the roundabout. Head was spinning like a wheel for half and hour so it could be G force :-). Has the Nitron shocks.

When I bought this one the guys on here warned me of this, but I haven't experienced it in 5,000 miles.

Sounds common though.

You can sometimes get oil coming out of the crankcase breather as there is no catch tank. The oil then falls on to the manifolds. All par for the course for TVR.

Of course, if you are having "excessive" oil fumes, then that may be a sign of other troubles. You'll need someone more mechanically knowledgeable to guide as to what that could mean...

Thanks for replies all.

Morebeanz . Good point about the breather pipe. It's not something I usually notice but was significant on my spin out yesterday. It's only just been serviced by TVR dealer so perhaps just needs keeping an eye on. If you don't hear from me you'll know why.

Thought the crank case breather hose went into the OS air box to be burnt. Perhaps the hose is off the airbox, it shouldn't fall on the manifolds confused

Well I've just been out for a lovely evening drive and no oil vapour on the cabin this time..and I still felt a bit heady when I got out. Carbon monoxide indicator was negative so that's ok. Must be the exhiliration :-) No oil leaks on the floor or anything. Can only think that oil must have splashed somewhere.
