As it says ??

I've dropped the diff out, yes it fell on my elbow and caught two fingers (one nearly down to the bone) on the way down !!!

I can feel play in both the inboard & outboard C/V joints frown not lots, difficult to describe, less than 1mm rotational i would say, do they need replacing ??

Thanks in advance Del (typing with one hand hehe)

I would take it along to a drive shaft specialist .. after all the hard work is removing that lot - it could be the bearings and grease are past their best and the small amount of movement will increase rapidly.

I thought the splined shafts were pretty well meshed, would expect no play at all. Replacing them whilst they are off is the best option IMHO. New synth greases last longer & cope with the heat better, check for whats best to use.

Dave
Is this your diff rebuild in progress Del?
