Drive Shaft C/V Joints how much play??
Discussion
As it says ??
I've dropped the diff out, yes it fell on my elbow and caught two fingers (one nearly down to the bone) on the way down !!!
I can feel play in both the inboard & outboard C/V joints not lots, difficult to describe, less than 1mm rotational i would say, do they need replacing ??
Thanks in advance Del (typing with one hand )

I would take it along to a drive shaft specialist .. after all the hard work is removing that lot - it could be the bearings and grease are past their best and the small amount of movement will increase rapidly.
£40 each so think i'll just do them anyway then..Cheers Rev

I thought the splined shafts were pretty well meshed, would expect no play at all. Replacing them whilst they are off is the best option IMHO. New synth greases last longer & cope with the heat better, check for whats best to use.

Is this your diff rebuild in progress Del?
