Seriously thinking of selling my bike, which I'm a little bit unsure of doing........but a friend has offered me good money for the Duke.

I'm thinking of either an MV F4 (750) or save a bit and get a 1098.......

Any thoughts or anyone had the above bikes.....I know Blades, GSXRs and ZX 10s are superb bikes but like something different......

Also want to take the GF out on the back again......I suppose in a way that counts the F4 out then as i'm sure they are single seat....

Bikes i've had are AR50 ha ha brilliant times.....GSXR 600, Fireblade, Mille, 2 748's and now a 996SPS.....

Mate, I'd love to help, but you know what I'm like....couldn't make a decision if my life depended on it.

The 1098 is nice.....got great reviews, but still a bit "new" isn't it. I wouldn't buy a brand new model again. Parts are a bitch to get hold of!!!!

The F4 is a lovely bike. Can you not get a pillion on there?

Don't fancy an RSV factory?

Saw a 1098 pass my building as I left for home last night. Sounded fantastic! But aren't they single seat only too? Or am I being daft here?

I can see a 1098 being very tempting, but even if they do have a pillion pad the GF ain't going to be too keen on spending too much time on that I suspect.

TBH, I'd keep the 996 and buy a used Monster S4 or Speed Triple for taking the GF out on.....if you've got the space for a 2nd bike.

To be honest thats what I want to do but the servicing along with another bike would cripple me, plus car insurance etc on top of 2 bikes. You know the scenario............need to make my mind up as the moneys there!

Ooh - I see you are a man with taste! My MV (750) is a cracking bike and I love it! They come in single seat and '+1' versions although your gf may not thank you for it! (Mind, if she's used to the 996 you won't have a problem!).
I've downgeared mine and it still needs revs to really get a move on, but the handling really is fantastic, the sound sends shivers down my spine and it's plenty quick enough. Then there are those looks . . .
If you can get a ride on one give it a whirl. They are fairly small, have lousy steering lock and comfort is hardly VFR-like, but you know that already! What they do have is soul - and a very good build quality! Let us know how you get on.
