Hi guys,

I'm getting my brakes done (they're starting to make a nasty grinding noise so i figure it's time to change the pads), and with the odd track day (and fairly hard road use on the odd ocassion) thought it wise to upgrade to some Pagid pads. Trouble is, I haven't got a clue which ones to spec - any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I had Pagid RS29s on my 3 and they were great but they are not for everyone because they squeel when cold.

I've got orange on my 996TT. Much softer than yellow R29 and don't squeel much either. I believe blue would also be a good choice for you.

RS-44-Orange - This compound has a very good fade resistance and a higher average friction value than the RS 4-2. It is rotor friendly with a very foreseable non-aggressive friction behavior (stable torque).

What car are we talking about ?
Having put RS29s in my car I don't think they're worth the aggro for the improvement they give over the standard items.

If you're going to track the car frequently I'd fit them, but for road use only they're just not worth it IMO.

If you want a set of front RS29s for a 996 C2/4 I've got a set that have done less than 500 miles in the rear calipers of my GT2 (they're the same pad as the fronts on a C2/4 & Boxster)I took them out because they weren't getting up to temperature and were thus squeaking.
If you heat cycle them hard they won't squeak at all.
