Hi

I've read with interest the different threads on Stereo upgrades but have come to no firm conclusion on what to upgrade to.

I'm not really interested in SatNav or watching TV in my car, I want all the money to go into improved sound quality so I'm thinking of upgrading the speakers, amp and head unit to something decent with the ability to play my MP3 library.

Can anyone recommend what I should look at and the most cost effective way to improve on the standard stereo? I’ve tried the recommended fiddling described in the FAQs and it still sounds rubbish.

Go to a local ICE specialist and see what they reccomend

Speakers, amp and head unit will provide massive difference, but personally I would pick one up with bluetooth for phone and sat nav as it will only add £3-£400 over a decent single disk unit and will look better in the dash

I started the most recent sat nav thread and did the ICE installer consulation this afternoon.

He's long established and known locally to be very good, but had never done a Monaro before and therefore couldn't give an absolute quote given the non-standard fitting. Caution is always better of course but 'budget £150 to £200 for the install' surprised me a bit !!

Does anyone know of an installer who knows their way around Monaro's ?

I am not sure what I do do with one without a friendly expert.
