Looking at getting a 1992 GTO with about 90 thou on it, is there any particular parts that will need replacing anytime soon??

I don't mind changing some parts and rebuilding it at some point but was hoping i wouldn't have too do it straight away....got any ideas??

Main parts that I'd recommend getting sorted when buying one...

Cambelt (including water pump and tensioner etc...) - around £550
Get ECU rebuilt < £100

Other than that just make sure you check the car thoroughly for any other faults such as oil in the intake system, any noises from the turbos, drivetrain and suspension. Check for any aftermarket electronics tucked away like boost controllers, AFCs etc - may be an indication it's been ragged.

Have a look on GTOUK at the buyers guide which has a lot of info - also stick a post up if you want a member to come look at it with you.

I got through some CV boots on mine, worth a look.

Also the tyres must be the same profile all around, I stripped a pair of P Zero Asymetricos inside 400 miles by running 35s at the back and 40s at the front (I'd simply replaced what was already on).
