Hi,

anynone know the best way for me to fit a cd multichanger into my 911 996 c4s. My car has bose factory fitted speakers. Porsche want to quote me apx £1000 to fit a multichanger. Surely there is another way?

Thanks,

Yeah just buy an ipod and follow the instructions on previous threads.

no seriously shop around. Its a Becker unit so should be able to buy online. If you have the loom fitted it should be plug and play. Someone will probably be along shortly to say Im talking total bollox.

Depending what year it is, have you thought about slapping in a new Becker headunit - you can get one for less than 1k that will do sat nav, ipod, bluetooth. Just ipod and bluetooth is in the £400 or so region. Or just get an ipod cable.

Obviously if you have no ipod, you're right in wanting a multichanger ...

I had the OPC fit a multichanger in the boot of my Cayenne S. Cost just over £1000.
More than half was labour IIRC. Problem is that its MOST (optical circuit) and the PCM2 (Sat Nav, Phone etc) is integral to it, the head unit will not recognise the changer until its told its there. Not like the old days of plug and play! See other thread for Denison Gateway, thats the way forward for me.

I had an early C4S (also Bose)which I'm sure was pre-wired for a multi-changer with a compartment in the boot for it. I bought a 4 disk Sony changer for under £200 and seem to remember I just fitted it myself in a couple of minutes with velcro to secure it.
