alfa gtv vs ferrari 308gtb
Discussion
I've had a 308GT4 on carbs (they all are I think) and a 3.0GTV. Sold the 308 a month before I got the GTV.
The GTV felt pretty much as fast as the ferrari to me.
Very much different though...the 308 was a lovely classic drive, very special, but not that quick really, the GTV effectively a modern (if slightly quirky) performance car.
Have driven a 348, but not hard enough to know just how good the performance is, but I would guess if you want a step in performance the 348 would give you that.
Funny enough I've been thinking ferraris again, and I am looking at 308 carbs or 348s. They're about the same sort of money, and its really looks and classic feel over faster, more modern car. Lovely dilemma to have really....

I had a GTV V6 and it's one of the few cars I regretted selling - it really is a special car
However, I now have a 348 and it really is in another league (though I still think the GTV has the better interior
)
We did look at getting a 308 but despite its sublime looks we felt it was going to be too much of a classic car ownership experience (been there, done that already) and wanted something newer.
Get yourself a well-sorted 348 - it's quicker than the GTV, handles better, sounds better (but only just
) and is a much, much more special. Oh, and there's none of this pretence about being a four-seater either

Look Pete, will you stop trying to big up these 348 ok? We all know they're rubbish, terrible cars, especially the LHD ones ... just awful.
However, if anyone wants a RHD TS, or in black, then they're marvellous cars ... just the LHD red ones that are awful ... steer well clear of 'em... ok?

give me a nudge if you come across a really nice, er, i mean awful one of these Rosso, LHD TBs yeah?
