specialist servicing in scotland

hi guys.
the lotus is due for its yearly servicing and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for independants in the scottish area,preferably strathclyde.the main dealer in Edinburgh can be a little pricey..any assistance would be greatly appreciated..

Don't think there's an independent as such - nearest specialist is down in Newcastle (can't remember the name just now). You could try Dreadnaught garage in Callander, they deal with TVR/Caterham and Rover (so will know the engine). They have a very good reputation if you look on the scottish boards. May be worth giving them a call.

You could try Thompsons on Industry Lane in Edinburgh (Ferry Road/Leith area).
They specialise in Rover/BMW and Merc and they've always been spot on with my Rover and have never tried to extract the urine on charges etc.
Only had my new Elise in there for an MOT so far (as its just had a major service before I bought it in January 08)

You could try Motortune in Shotts - 01501 822247 ask for Peter (very helpful guy). They are Porsche specialists but also deal with other stuff like Ferrari/Lotus etc. I've always been pleased with any work they've done for me.

Hi, the main mecanic from Murray's Lotus set up on his own about 6 months ago as Scottish Lotus Services. Although I haven't used him myself (thought he has given good advice when I was stuck working on my car), many at www.scottishelises.com have and really rate his work. You can get Alister on 07961445483, think he's based just outside Edinburgh.

Alternativly in Ayrshire, I take my car to Croft garage/Jonnie Johnstone motorsport in Tarbolton, who also have a few other Eliges as customers.
