Could anyone out there with a manual 430 let me know how many miles their clutches are lasting?

And please no tales of woe from Gallardo owners.......

I'm on 5,500 miles and no sign of wear so far, so the answer is.....at least 10 times as long as a Gallardo clutchbiggrin

Gallardo owners may still have the last laugh - the reason I am posting is because I am finding Gallardo clutches far more durable the 430 clutches.

Either there are very few 430 owners on the forum, or they don't want to own up to poor clutch wear after the hammering that they have been giving Lambo owners! wink

Just waiting for some decent weather Dell....I won't hold my breath!

As for the low response rate, don't forget the vast majority of 430s are F1s, not many of us purists left!

Good point - I wonder how long the F1's last?

Due to the last two summers being so poor, and the average 430 owner's reluctance to take the thing out in humid conditions, let alone rain, probably means we will have a while to wait for a few cars to clock up a heady 5k miles!! Then we may see some clutches replaced. Meanwhile, peeing down yesterday and the Gallardo felt as planted as ever through the local twisties at ahem mph ..... probably overtook a few Fezza owners in their Rangies.

on one of the other forums there are qrite ups of "two" highish usage cars

First one is a Jan07 car with 16,000 miles - no real problems appart from the enivitable engine warning lights
Second one is an Oct06 car with 20,000 miles - think it has had 4 clutches + 1 new engine and is currently in bits again

on Fchat there is a guy with a car which has had new engine, new gearbox, a few clutches, new CCB brakes etc

Any reason for such brief ownership?

Good luck, I'm interested to see how fast it sells as I think I might be getting rid of mine

I am ashamed to say fast cars don't give me the horn the way they used to. A lot of it is to do with living in Central London. Good opportunity to get out before the depreciation becomes too savage.
