Guys, some advice please. £5k budget to purchase an s2. Would welcome any opinion on what £5k should get me (ie mileage wise, history, general condition, history of some big jobs having been completed etc..). Want to get the best I can (within my budget) and would prefer something that wasn't almost immediately due an MoT, belts or an expensive service! ps- this will be a 2nd car averaging only 3000 miles per annum. Many thanks.

Well spotted Oli. Simple. Bought wrong s2 (May), sold wrong s2 (June). Now looking to buy the right s2 (and this time with a bigger budget). I'm sure most of us have been there at some time or another. In Edinburgh, interested to hear about any for sale within 100 miles (other than those already in classifieds, autotrader, Ebay etc). Thanks.

What's wrong with the current example?

There's no current example - it's gone. I'd bought the (wrong) s2 on the cheap with the intention of spending abit here and there. However, the cost of "improvements" here and there actually started to add up to the (overall) price of a better example. Plus, the transmission was noisy and there were too many other annoying things to mention in this posting. So, lost a couple of hundred quid & cut my losses. Learned my lesson. Looking for another...
