M4 J 10-J11 average speed camaras are gone

at last the average speed camaras that have been on the m4 between junctions 10 and 11 for as long as i can remember (kind of) have now been removed

Have the roadworks and 50 limit gone too?

mmmm i drove past last nite about 1am and i think there where paintin the white lines back in the original place so it must be over soon

Drove both ways today. Heading East the 50 limit signs are still there minus scameras. Westbound no limits or scameras.

the roadworks have gone from junction 10-11 but have now moved junction 11 and beyond, no idea how far thou cos i get off at j11

they now run from 11 to just before Reading services westbound and vice versa. Guess who works in Theale just off J12?
Oh well back roads it is then!

This is all connected with the "communications upgrade", scheduled to complete in May 2008, which was due to move to 'section 2' in May and must therefore already be running late! The original plan was apparently:

Section 1: J10 to just before J11 - Jan 2007 to Apr 2007
Section 2: Just before J11 to the services - May 2007 to Jul 2007
Section 3: Services to J12 - Aug to Dec 2007

All "weather permitting"! I'm not entirely sure what they're planning to do from next Jan to May though.

Having said all that, my biggest delay so far was caused by the blazing Vauxhall Astra at the top of the eastbound exit slip yesterday evening!
