After a few issues with loading, missing textures etc I cleaned a few marks off the disk.

Didnt think much of it (i.e how was it scratched if its been the only thing in the Xbox for 3 weekswink) and the problem went away.

Today I have the same problems so I open it up....and the bloody disk is covered in about 10 marks (all lines in the same angle of the disk) banghead.

This didnt happen before so I'm gonna try Rainbow 6 and see what happens...

The shop should exchange it for you.

It's just something the 360 does occasionally. Yes, the store should exchange it for you.

How bad do discs look after a 360 has "scratched" them? I've got some small marks on one of my discs, but not sure they are anything to worry about.

Could you take a photo of your damaged Forza disc at all?

Thanks very much.

It could be a fault with your dvd drive on your xbox.. Might be worth giving tech support a call and see what the crack is.. They should also replace the disc it has scratched if there is a problem with the unit.

had this happen on mine which I think it was causing the game to freeze, took it back to tesco and got a replacement easily.

Update: After my last post I cleaned the disk carefully and put it back in and no problems. Its worked all day today no problem so I'll just have to keep and eye on it.

Looking through the forums it appears the typical sctacthing is like a figure of 8 on the surface - and they are much deeper than the ones I had (i.e you cant clean them off!).

I've found it would take a while to load sometimes on single player, cleared the cache and no probs with that since - had a few complete freeze moments when playing online, but I just put that down to either the dodgy connection or servers filling their bags...

Whats started happening to me occasionally is at the end of a race, once i hit A and its supposed to go to the save screen it, just stays there for a minute then comes up with dirty disc..

I get that too, the freezing then dirty disc message. It's down to dust, give the 360 a good blow (oo-er) and it sorts itself out when you restart.

As for the scratching, is your 360 vertical? As I've been told vertical 360's are more prone to scoring the discs.

Are you all getting the same sort of marks?

Note: Mine are MARKS not SCRACTHES

You can wipe them off carefully but they are deep and luckily dont ruin the disk at the moment.

Mine are small, maybe 1mm thick and 3mm - 5mm long, all lines in the circular angle of the disk.

This is a word for word description of what happened to mine two days ago. Disk now has a circle of pitted scratches all around and does not even get past the first startup vids. I also tested with Rainbow 6.

So can I take it back to the shop and have them exchange it? What do i say? Missballenced disk? Thanks.

Guess so! I didnt bother taking it back (mainly because I got it from Amazon and didnt want to post it. From the other replies on here you can take it back. MS do a disk repacement scheme as well I heard???
