Programming E38 key

When I bought my car it only came with one key… I have obtained another remote and change the blade which I had cut but, it wont start the car…

I have tried to programme it using various instructions and this works to a point and allows the central locking to work but it wont start the car…

Any way round this or does it mean a trip to the dealers?

Better still, anyone recommend an independent around the midlands that does this?

You will need to order a key to the chassis number of the car..., so its a trip to the dealers i`m afraid!! When you get the key you will then need to initialize it to operate the central locking.

Compared to most cars these days thats bloody cheap!
