Also, this "critical threat" stuff seems both pointless and hyperbolic. Pointless, because raising the threat level because attacks have been already been attempted isn't actually useful - a bit like issuing retrospective flood warnings. Hyperbolic, because the actual level of threat to any given individual is much less than any other daily risk, even if the wannabe "terrorists" were competent with actual explosives. Car accidents KSI thousands a year in the UK, but my car isn't permanently stickered up with "critical threat" warnings.

People in parts of the world riven by real strife and violence must think us a right bunch of pussies.
