I'm almost on the phone to a seller of a very nice low mileage 2005 2.7 at 30k for the missus to do her 2000 miles a year in. Any cognoscenti negative opinions worth considering?

Done

I'll bring her round this evening, after she's ironed my shirts.

The Boxster's a terrific roadster (and not just for the wife).

'S' is noticeably nicer than the 2.7, and the 987 is noticeably better than the 986. IMO best buy would be a 987'S' followed by a 987 2.7, followed by a 986'S', followed by a 986 2.7.

If buying privately, do all the right checks and get the official extended warranty included.

If you get the spec you want at the price you wants the only thing to worry about is the annual warranty cost.

I've had 4 over 8 years and can honestly say there is nothing to touch them.

lovely cars, for an 05 the premium for an S is relatively small so get an S, and avoid tiptronics like the plague

lucky wife, should accrue enough gold stars to keep you out of poo for a few years
