Where does the ecu go?
Discussion
It originally was fitted down the side of the battery and the outside of the footwell but the addition of some bits now prevents that.
Heath Briggs says his prefered location is in front of the battery as he's seen too many shorted out on the battery. I guess the only safe way to put it on top of the battery is to make a small shelf to put the ecu on to prevent any danger of shorting and a fire.

The later Griffs have the ECU just floating on top of the battery, the earlier ones there's enough room to wedge it between the battery and the transmission tunnel.
Quite frankly the Griff wiring is pretty poor in this area and looks like it was installed in about 10 minutes, my wedge was better.

The battery appears to go hard against the tunnel and although I can push the ecu partly in down the other side, it backs up against some gubbins [ maybe some sort of heater motor or valve] so maybe its a " sling it on top of the battery job", any further advice or coments welcomed, I assume the relays etc attached to the wiring sit where they end up! cheers, John.
Hi,
I found my ECU wedged high up between a ledge and inner wing top above the battery; the ECU plug resting on the lagged heater pipes. Seemed like a good place away from the battery with no chance of it falling down. This left enough room for the remaing loom to lay across the covered battery without having to jam every thing into a tight spot. I put some more heater lagging material between ECU plug and heater pipes to stop any heat soak.
