Following my nearly being the 6th floods fatality last Monday night my Tamora has returned from the menders with new oil, new air filter and nice dry fragranced carpets.

However, the headlights have some water inside the H4 glass and the perspex cover (1 side only). The menders weren't keen to try to take off the perspex covers as they reckon they always crack and they didn't have any replacements. Also, my wallet was almost in geostationary orbit.

So - anyone ever taken their headlights out?

Can you perform a rear entrance via the wheelarch cover to gain full access to remove the light assembly and strip down?

Do you have to take the perspex covers off or not?

Ta.

Drilled 2 small holes on my perspex covers- 1 at the top & 1 at the bottom to let the water/moisture out.

Thanks Chris.

May try that but I'm still not sure how to get the water out of the headlight units.

Hi Chris,

how "large" are the "small" holes?

Thanks

Hi Richard,

at least on the T350 it is fairly simple to access the lights through the wheel arcs. I haven't taken out the lens yet. If the Tamora has Hella light units too, it shouldn't be too hard...

Thanks Konrad.

I'll have a go on Friday and let you all know if it can be done.

Epoxy resin and glass matting at the ready.

Regards to removing perspex covers. The guys at Automedon can whip them off in no time without breaking them. Also if you have condensation probs in your rear light clusters (T350) Automedon will cure this for good.
I can highly recommend these guys

Gorners took my covers off a couple of yeas ago for my front end re-spray (stone chips) & refitted original not re-placed with new.
No problems.

If you mail me I'll send you them. PH mail doesn't let you attach pics or files- or if it does I haven't worked out how to...
