Out of interest Ted - why did you sell the Gallardo? Friend of mine has one and i cant fault it in anyway. Sense of presence, acceleration, handling, build quality, feel good factor etc is untouchable for a £100k car. Sure a GT2 may be a fraction quicker but i cant imagine it matching the feel good factor of a Gallardo.

Didn`t want to sell gallardo, but i`v bought a house in the south of france and as the gallardo doesn`t get used enough the wife said somthing has to go, i also have a 997C2S which will also be going, so i want somthing quick, at reasonable cost and the 2 rear seats are a bonus for the kids(another lambo will be on the drive next year)

No denying the fact that the Gallardo is a great allrounder, and I can only comment after a couple of short test drives... but you really ought to go and test drive both to find out for yourself. wink

GT Porsche's - there is no substitute. wink

Fair comments Ted,I would definaetly pull out the stops for a used 996 GT3 if they came with standard rear seats.

And I would be very suspicious of the £13k engine upgrades - Porsche didn't offer any upgrades on MY04 engines. Plus the guy hardly ever drove it.

Best way to try out a 997 GT3 is to book a half day on the Porsche GT3 Experience at Millbrook. It's about £500 but a good day out and a worthwhile investment in discovering just how accomplished this car is (and whether or not it's for you).

You can't order a new one because production is finished and the allocations are sold out. Most will have listed at £85k to £95k, depending on spec., and residuals are still very strong, but there are a few on the market.

Better value might be a lhd example from Europe.

looks great that gt2, i would have thought a gt2 would be a better choice as it has already lost quite alot of money in depreciation and it would be quicker.

Both special cars but somehow the GT2 more special......and cheaper, although both are bullet proof depreciationwise(if that word exists)

I would have thought the gallardo is as use able as either the GT2/GT3 maybe even more so. As your getting rid of the C2s wasnt keeping the gallardo the better option as you would then be using it a lot more with no choice of taking the c2s?

I see early gallardo's are the same money as the gt2/gt3.

I think another issue is the (lack of) extended Lambo warranty

I went to Geneva Motor Show and dearly wanted the Super Leggaria to have lots more room than the standard car with bucket seats being lower .

But it was like squeezing 4 pounds of Custard in a 2 pound bag !

I did not fit - I thought these German Parent Car manufacturers would make the car more accessible but I was wrong

What a stunning car it was !
