Does anybody know if you can spray/paint some new reflector on to the headlamp unit ?? As one headlamp was pretty poor in comparison to the other I took it out, it looks like there was some over spray on it or something. Thought I'd give it a polish to see if a genie popped out but alas all that happened is that i've polished the reflector stuff off.

I know you can buy knew ones for aboout 40 quid but wondered if there was any sort of spray that could be used ??

Frosts do a mirror spray but at best it gives about 40% of the reflectivity of a mirror.
Doubt if it's good enough for a headlamp.

Yes there is, its like a large rubber band, you fit this to the lens then bond the whole thing to the body(nice job not)remember to keep trial fitting the outer body ring panel(the painted bit) before you fully secure, that part sits on the lens and if you get it wrong you will have gaps everywhere plus it will look shit,i have done this job recently and taking your time is worthwhile, good luck.I got those rubbers from Racing green by the way but i think most independents do em.

Thanks for all your help so far thumbup

Gotall the bits and pieces (for one side anyway!!). Are you saying that you put the rubber band around the lens and then silica the lens to the firbreglass headlight surround ?? I thought you would have silica'd the lens to the reflector ??

Whenever I take anything to pieces I always think I'm going to remember what bits came off where.............

Simon, the reflector stands on its own 3 adjuster studs and is not secured with anything else(or secured to the lens),the rubber band is fitted to the lens glass and this is then bonded to the body shell, please take note of my previous post about trial fittng the surround most important, good luck.
