Chassi number?

Where can I find the chassi number? Have looked "everywhere"!It must be somewhere on the tubes, right? The car is a 350 -84

Thanks, I´ll have another look. It is the one on the tubing I´m searching for.

With "tower" , you mean where the spring is,right?
And under the dirt is...nothing. Good thing is....the tower is now the right grey colour not black!And so is the left one.
Any other possible places?
Of course, the plate on the wing is there but it should have the number somewhere on the chassis?

Open up the bonnet, look down inside on the engine side the right hand suspension tower, the number is stamped horizontally on the flat metal plate of the chassis, just below the upper suspension pivot bolt.

It is fairly shallow stamping and I had to get a good light and rub the surface with fine abrasive in order to read mine.

Mine is on the upright although well and truly covered in paint and very hard to see.

The chassis number (you can't see it) is marked in the rusty rectangle where there is no paint covering the inside of the driver side front suspension upright - towards bottom left of photo:

As pictured before: my chassis number is there as well. And during an MOT it is very difficult to fully read it. Last time they took like 10 minutes and said that sort of they had seen all the characters..... Also my comment is that every year it passes its MOT and the chassis number is ok.
By the way: If there is paint over it, you cannot read it!
Sand paper + torch is what you need.

Edited for: For us LHD wedges it is on the passenger side part of the chassis that takes the top of the shock absorber.
