hi all,i checked my wiring for my ns lambda sensor and found the wiring has been rubbing under the plenum.the wires have not broken but the outer plastic has worn through exposing wires.would this blow a fuse if there is one as i am getting a fault code 44.i dont want to get a new lambda if its just these wires.cheers,jay.

Swap the lambdas over to check. The wires should be shielded so it may be only the shielding that is exposed.

hi spend, the wires have worn through the white sleeve and through the coloured coating so you can see bare wire.thats why i thought they might have blown a fuse if there is one.jay.

Shielded wires are a PITA to fix, you can carefully jury rig with tape and foil, but IMHO the only safe lasting method is to replace the complete run! It is prob forcing your ECU into Limp home mode (gives a 0 resistance reading cos its shorting) ~ so try & jury rig the cables to see if they sort your problem. I wouldn't rely on Heath Robinson cable joining to survive the extremes of the engine bay for long tho..
