So what hat will you be wearing at Silverstone then?

As is traditional I will be buying a ridiculously overpriced hat on Saturday that I will never wear again (my Mercedes Mclaren 'Kimi' hat is not much good now). But the question is which one to get? I think Lewis will have enough support so I am going to go with DC and get a Red Bull hat this year.

I went to friday practice a while back, when Justin Wilson and Ralph Firman were racing. rather the buy the usual caps, I wanted to support the undupported british drivers, but every stand was selling the same clothing, at the same price...

Yes, prices are strictly controlled on stalls round the circuit - better bargains to be had in the stalls set up the other side of the Dadford Road, across the footbridge; mind you, they all seem to be controlled by one German guy....

I shall be wearing a pirate hat (& ensemble) the better to wind up Fernando Alonso with.

I shall also be shouting " Splice the main brace my heaties, we're off to the Spanish Main" at annoyingly close intervals through a loud-hailer.

Further, I sahll be equipped with a recently refurbished vintage Dunhill lighter in case I spot any Spanish royalty whose beards need singing*.

I shall be accompanied by a large-ish gentleman dressed as Sir Francis Drake who will be simultaneously playing boules & holding a banner expressing the belief that it's not a Siberian Hamster, Manuel, it's a rat.

I'll be wearing my Australian Drover's hat (or, as Nick P likes to call it, my silly hat) which keeps the sun off my head when it's sunny and, due to the wonders of ScotchGuard, keeps my head dry when it rains.
