As a matter of information.

Local press and signposts carrying a notice updating the TRO on the A449 Kidderminster to Ombersley.

Reason for update is that the extent and limits stated in TRO did not match the signs. This could affect anyone pinged on the section of the A449 in the 50 section from near Ombersley right up to Kidderminster heading Northbound

Ignoring the fact that they've very possibly got the wording wrong again rolleyes this notice tells me that someone has successfully fought a threatened prosecution by West Mercia Scamps.

So a number of questions.

1) Does this open up the possibility that people wrongly convicted previously can write in and claim their offence should be overturned? This assumes, of course, that the beggars won't be writing to everyone, hahahahaha!

2) Does the team think that anyone who has put their hands up and paid up is in a worse position in respect of this situation? By that I mean less likely to have their offence overturned because the CJS system will see it as a guilty pleas, as opposed to someone who pleaded not guilty but lost case in court?

Anyway if anyone can benefit info provided for them, I have no axe to grind either way.

for location see

The arrow points to the location of the 50 signs, the scamps usually sit on LH verge just South of the junction where the spur from the A4133 crosses the A449 and turns into the yellow heading towards Haye Farm. NB there are other scamming spots elsewhere on this road, the TRO iirc covers right from Ombersley to Kidde.
Title of old TRO was
The Highways Agency
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The A449 Trunk Road
(Kidderminster to Ombersley)
(40 Miles per hour and 50 miles per hour Speed Limit) Order 2005

the new one is exactly as above with addition
Variation order 2007

edited to try and get maplink to work

Looks like yet another Fif.

It amazes me that there are SET procedures for these things and yet they still get it wrong but the Order making sequence is somewhat complicated. Taking into account the Blair brag that under his tenureship we are getting more educated and therefore ability to understand then it shouldn't happen. But in defence of Highways could be that the actual signage was subcontracted to private firm with no knowledge of the law........ 'stick hit him ehear might'

As I understand it that those wrongly convicted on a duff Order can apply for the money back and points removed.
