Thanks everyone for the comments about our latest Bruntingthorpe Event. We really enjoyed your company and the day seemed to fly by. The new format of booking instruction with our esteemed team of racers Messrs. Guglielmi,Cole and Wild worked really well. The old boys had no chance to sit about and chat!
The bull**** had to wait till the end of the day! Suffice to say they were more than impressed with a particular lady driver who showed how it should be done.
We're now thinking of future events and are seeking feedback. We'd like to run an event,later this year , to introduce the fairer sex to the enjoyment of track days in relaxed environment assisted by our team of gallant instructors.
We at TMS are committed to Bruntingthorpe as our home track.The owners of Bruntingthorpe have a real soft spot for TVR's and have an original 60's Tuscan tucked away awaiting resoration. Rest assured we will keep the cost right and the format responsive to your needs. Just keep coming!

Not complete feedback as we came to spectate and to check it out - we liked what we saw and even the wife said she felt brave enough to perhaps have a go next time so thats positive!! Well executed I thought. Perhaps a short session during the day for first timers/less skilled?!

Have you seen the other restoration project the Bruntingthorpe owners have in their hangar?! Slightly more powerful and more noise than a Tuscan - a Vulcan bomber no less!

Few comments.

1) Can't you pay Brunters to hire a road sweeper for a few hours the day before and raise the price by £10 or £20 - I'm sure you'll get more people wanting to attend. Unless I know that it's been swept the day before I'm afraid I have no desire to take the Noble out on it and need a respray.

2) Decide if it's going to be a TVR only day or mixed at the start - otherwise this latest two times of confusion and the sound of "we need the numbers, so I know we told you that you couldn't come when we announced it, but now you can" really get's up the old olfactory sense.

I very much enjoyed myself there. The only room for improvement is with the chicanes that are erected with those incy-wincy cones which soon got scattered over the runway (I was responsible for two of them ).

It'd be nice if a better way was found of marking out those chicanes.

I also found it a bit difficult to overtake, but I guess I just need 200 more horses

I agree with joust on the sweeper front - I am not perpeared to pay £100 or so for a track day, swiftly followed each time by £1000 for a front end respray - it makes it rather expensive as track days go!!

It didn't live up to its reputation on that front. The part of the circuit that we were using seemed pretty clear or did I just not notice a few extra pock marks?

They've got a 'stinger' type thing at the entrance which you drive over. The teeth drop into the ground as you go forwards but if you reverse they stick into your tyres.

I drove over it and the bloody thing caught on the exhaust/chassis and I couldn't get over. The chaps behind lifted the body of the car and that was enough to let me drive across.

Thanks for the comments. We'll never get better if we don't listen.I will speak to Bruntingthorpe this week about a road sweeper. One way or another we'll make sure it happens for next time - because our cars suffer too. The reason we opened the event up was that we had a few spare places left due to it being a bank holiday weekend. We also had a lot of people, (with other cars)contact us after the March day asking to come to the next one. Although the focus is primarily TVR we thought it added interest having other cars there. So I guess we'll stay relaxed about it for future events.Incidently we're still trying to work out how the "Red Bull" girls got in with their crazy VW Beetle! Must go our Griff is racing at Oulton Park this afternoon.Thanks again to all.

Had a great day. I agree with Ted, there were little or no stone chips to my front end. Steve Gulielmi took me out in my car and showed me what a Chimaera can really do, and was a bloody nice bloke as well.

Thought any more about Pistonfest having shoe and handbag exhibitors to get the girlies interested Ted?

Definitely a top day out - I want more!

Was a little disappointed to miss out on getting some instruction round the track (my own fault for not getting there early enough), but all in all a great time.

The Red Bull girls were worth it for comedy value, as they tried valiantly to work their sales pitch into general conversation between several owners. 10/10 for effort ladies... And I guess they didn't manage to blag passanger wristbands from TMS?

One last thing - I understand why TMS didn't want to let people out in their demo cars round the track (stonechips/people ragging it)- but it would have been nice if my friend could at least have got a short ride in the T350, even if it was just out on the local roads for 20 mins. Despite several requests, and seeing others being taken out round the track, he couldn't get a trip out "maybe later, eh?". This guy is extremely keen on the T350, is certainly in the position to buy one, and just needs a bit of persuasion to go out and make that purchase (though perhaps that wasn't made clear enough at the time)...

Need another one sooner than september. Stonechips were not a problem at all for me and they normally show up loads as my car is imperial blue.

also i was a bit miffed a TMS as when someone enquired about a test drive in the tuscan he was told no and 5 mins later to of the sales guys disppeared off in the tuscan to the other end of the track

but all in all a great day despite the rain (stewards by the way where all members of northants TVRCC who hopefully made the event all the more enjoyable )

I went to the first day so maybe not representative of the last but had a real problem with stone chips, so much so that won't do another one at Bruntingthorpe.
Also had a problem 'booking' instruction, and waited ages for test drives which all seemed hit and miss (unless you were a nubile lady). In spite of the above it was fun and everyone was clearly enjoying themselves.

That was my car the red Griff 500 with the industrial plastic covering the front of the car.

I also used gaffer tape on the wing mirrors and rear arches.

This combo worked well with no stone chips to mention on the day, had several from Brunters 1.

I would gladly pay £10 extra for the track to be swept the day before, less hassle for everybody on the day.

Next time, I will use the same, but with low adhesive gaffer tape.

Peter - get it swept and I'll certainly bring the recently upgrade Noble along (LSD, more power) to add that bit of "spice"
