Sorry if this has been asked before but who is the cheapest for insuring 20 year olds for kit cars. I have 2 years NCD.

Footman James again for me, £498 on a 1600 X-flow Locust 7 when I was 18, £320 on Quantum 2+2 when I was 20, and then £252 when I turned 21.

Also try 'Sureterm Direct' as they were by far the cheapest for fully comp on my Veranti at age of 23. They bet Footman James and Adrian Flux by miles. They're advertised in the Kit Car mags.

I found that quite a few companies wouldn't insure drivers under 25 when i was first looking. I ended up with Adrian Flux because, although i'd had quotes of £10 - £20 less, they were the only company to offer 3rd party cover on any car (with the owner's permission) which seemed like a really good deal, especially when my main car insurance was only 3rd party at the time. This was about 5yrs ago now and i'm still with Adrian Flux even though the GTM hasn't turned a wheel in 2 years...

Are you a member of the Quantum owner's club? If not, joining should help get a useful discount as they have a special club scheme so many Quantum owners have their cars covered through Footman James - me included.

eek

What?! I paid £350ish fully comp, unlimited mileage at 19 on the club scheme.

To be honest, when you look at the cost of insuring a new driver on, say a 106 even the original £1,200 wouldn't be that bad!! Have a good chat to Footman James and I'm sure you can get a sensible premium. That was the main reason I bought my 2+2. They also happen to be very practical (which is the other reason, apart from that I'd have gone for a K3 or something)
