BBWF Better late than never - looking for hotel

I now find myself in the rather delightfull position of being able to attend the BBWF 2007 , although not surprisingly, the Ettington is fully booked.
Anyone else staying anywhere nearby I could try? I can find a few via internet but thought I'd check on here first, help much appreciated, Cheers.

If you simply do a trawl through the internet for accommodation in the area (Ettington / Stratford-upon-Avon)you will find lots - from farmhouse accommodation to rather posh in nearby villages.

If you look at the Ettington website, you should see a bed-an-breakfast at a cottage close to the pub. If it isn't shown on there, contact the chap who compiles the website direct and he will tell you about it - I've just noticed it isn't shown. His number/email is shown on the accommodation page just under the ad for the White Horse pub.

That does not sound right - I thought numbers were down this year..

Try calling the conference office (and not the front desk) and ask them to confirm numbers of rooms booked for BBWF.

It may be that they looked and saw the BBWF booking and assumed that the whole hotel was booked.

Sadly this has happened before.

Ooh no its not!
I saw your post, paniced and phoned them. They still have a few rooms free.
If you phone them on 01789 740 000, ask to be put through to room bookings, say you are attending BBWF and they will sort you out.

I went for the option of sharing 2 twins in a double room.

Ok, sorry for causing a minor panic , It now seems that there are still some rooms available , originally I checked availability online and was told the hotel had nothing available for that date, I then phoned on the off chance hoping the online system was not accurate, phoned after the booking desk had closed and person I spoke to didn't know much, new nothing of the BBWF, but did confirm that there were no rooms available for that date, I now phoned again today after reading all of your posts and weyhey! a few rooms still available, so one booked for me .

Excited? Rightly so. All those Wedges in one place - terrific. I've only been to the one BBWF, and sadly it doesn't look like I'm attending this one.
