Hi does anyone know where the speedo pick up is on an e39 5 series?

MY nearside (passenger side in UK )rear ABS sensor once failed and the speedo stopped working. Hence, suggest it's driven off that sensor somehow. They're situated in the rear wheel hub and are a known weakness.
